A first sense of the place
The Burren lies on the west coast of Ireland, mainly in north County Clare and extending into south County Galway. It stretches from the Atlantic coast around Fanore and Black Head inland towards Ballyvaughan, Carran and the lowlands around Gort, taking in peaceful towns and villages, exposed limestone, hills, valleys and lakes along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Discover the Burren by immersing yourself in the photographic world of the Burren Light & Land Project. A project born from a photographer's fascination with this remarkable landscape and the endless ways in which light, weather and the seasons transform it. The photography captures not only the places themselves, but their atmosphere — the fleeting light, changing skies, luminous mornings and dramatic weather that make the Burren feel different every time.
